Roots & Resilience
What lights my fire and stirs my passion
Imagine a world that is driven by the desire for authenticity.
To authentically feel that we each are in full alignment with the mission that our souls came here to fulfill.
There is a treasure trove of wisdom and passion that we each carry, yet it gets blocked by the bump and grind of daily survival, of never-ending task lists and the inundation of information that pulls at our attention from all sides.
To be open in this world means to be open to the influx of pain and suffering from every corner. So many hungry babies wanting to be fed, crying out for our attention. Our precious attention. There's only so many hours to the day, only so much we can give before we're gived out.
Sometimes even the greatest efforts feel like moving sand from one pile to another using nothing but tweezers.
So what is the point? What lights the spark to get out of bed in the morning, to turn on that kettle with the hope that how we choose to spend today might somehow make a positive difference?
My passion for trees lights my spark, for there have been too many mornings when I've awoken to the sound of a chainsaw cutting into the blessed barky flesh of tree folk that I called friends, whose protective branches I sat under to dream and watch the bees pollinate the blossoms nearby. Whose sturdy trunks helped realign my spine as I breathed deep and imagined the roots that grow holding me safe and secure in sacred soil.
In the face of chainsaws and rapid development, I feel small. In the face of elections where women and minorities are disregarded, I feel powerless. In the face of so much brokenness, so much distortion, so much manipulation and energy harvesting and environmental destruction, the one thing that holds true is the regenerative power of nature.
She always finds a way to grow back. She will break the concrete if need be to make space for roots to grow. She will bend around barbed wire and sprout roots in solid rockface in order to thrive.
So, let us be like nature, for that is what we are.
Imagine a world where we all knew this to be true and grew as trees grow, multiple trunks sharing a base, rooted in the soil, branches to the sky, fully aligned with our purpose to simply be here now, providing shelter for whatever gentle soul decides to take a moment to sit by us.
My driving force for this cycle ahead is to grow my roots and my base so strong as to bend the chainsaw that would dare try to take me down.
A stable business grounded in true purpose.
A sustainable home close to nature and people who want to work and thrive together in harmony.
A healthy, strong and supple body that moves me through the world with joy and grace.
Truly nourishing and co-creative relationships that share passion and devotion to a life worth living.
Sensual exploration and deep remembering of the gifts bestowed upon those of us lucky enough to be embodied.
The ebb and flow of all the feels, and deep trust that this is held and accepted by those around me.
Clarity about the gifts I carry, the power I wield, and how to direct that energy and leverage it in the manner that will be of greatest contribution to the earth.
And
Protecting the trees.
From this place of deep rootedness and alignment with the true heart of creation, I will be the voice for those who speak in ways not all humans have yet learned to listen.
And so, I learn to listen, so I can tell their story from a place of such authenticity that others will have no choice but to imagine.
Imagine a world...
